Negotiations to keep the DFN alive are continuing. Representatives of the

action group worked late last night to resolve a number of practical

issues in the proposed arrangement with Durham.Net. We now have what the

negotiating team believes is an acceptable agreement with Durham.Net.

More talks are needed to reach an agreement with the present

administration of Durham Free-Net. In the meantime, the action group 

will strive to establish contact points so that you can re-establish

contact in the aftermath of any shutdown. Details on how to maintain

contact will be forthcoming later today.
